Nel silenzio visivo di un fondo scuro profondo, quasi abissale, si staglia “Below the Surface”, un’opera che attrae l’occhio e lo costringe a rallentare. Come una creatura marina riemersa da un sogno psichedelico, la conchiglia mineralizzata di Aurelio Mustacciuoli si fa cuore pulsante dell’installazione, ornata da colori acrilici sgargianti che ne rivelano il potenziale simbolico.
Mustacciuoli, da sempre attento ai linguaggi del tempo e delle trasformazioni, realizza qui un’opera che unisce suggestioni organiche, visioni molecolari e una poetica del mistero sommerso. La conchiglia, reliquia calcarea del mare, si carica di un’energia nuova attraverso il gesto pittorico che, pur essendo ludico e cromaticamente gioioso, nasconde un’indagine più profonda sulla stratificazione dell’identità e sull’ignoto che vive “sotto la superficie”.

Mustacciuoli, always attuned to the languages of time and transformation, here presents a piece that fuses organic suggestions, molecular visions, and a poetics of the submerged. The shell — a calcareous relic of the sea — is recharged with new energy through a painterly gesture that, while playful and chromatically joyous, conceals a deeper reflection on identity stratification and the mystery dwelling “below the surface.”
