In questa scultura potente e vibrante, Angela Carrubba Pintaldi – artista, designer e donna di fuoco – plasma la materia con una sacralità primitiva. Cristo su ossidiana è un’opera che richiama, con forza arcaica e spirituale, il dialogo eterno tra sofferenza e rinascita.

La figura del Cristo, scolpita in bronzo con una postura tesa e struggente, si staglia su una roccia viva: un frammento di ossidiana di Pantelleria, isola dove l’artista ha scelto di ancorare la sua esistenza e la sua estetica. In this powerful and vibrant sculpture, Angela Carrubba Pintaldi — artist, designer, and woman of fire — shapes matter with a sense of primal sacredness. Christ on Obsidian evokes, with archaic and spiritual force, the eternal dialogue between suffering and rebirth.

The figure of Christ, sculpted in bronze with a taut, poignant posture, stands upon a living rock: a shard of obsidian from Pantelleria, the island where the artist has chosen to anchor both her life and aesthetic. The obsidian — a glassy, black, and razor-sharp volcanic stone — becomes not only a support but a symbol. It is the cross, the Golgotha, the Mother Earth that receives and cries out.

Angela does not seek formal perfection: she seeks truth. And in this unadorned Christ, as if born of magma and nailed to the island’s memory, we encounter a contemporary, embodied, secular spirituality. The sculptural gesture is direct, essential — like a shamanic chant carved into stone.
